Fun Stuff!
This being New Jersey, we don't have the luxury of an endless summer. So between
Memorial Day and Labor Day, Raccoon Valley likes to squeeze in as much fun as possible.
We sponsor a number of special events, club activities, and "fun nights" throughout
the season, most open to all members but some reserved for just kids or just adults.
Our biggest party each year is traditionally on the Fourth Of July. The club opens early and offers games and competitions for the kids throughout the day with lots of prizes. The celebration concludes with a great barbecue dinner and the annual lifeguards-vs-parents street brawl water polo match in the diving well.
Fridays are
Pizza Nights at RVSC, and once a year we hold a
Crab Party just for grown-ups. There are also several Teen Nights
plus a Pre-Teen Party featuring food, swimming, and music for the kids. The
Swim & Dive Teams host a number of special events as well, including a
pasta dinner, an ice cream social, and a pancake breakfast.
In addition to all of this, we usually hold a few one-time events during the summer, depending on what bizarre ideas our members dream up each year. Keep checking the Fun Stuff page for announcements and details. And, if you are interested in hosting a private party at the facility after closing hours, please contact us for more information.
In The News...
In 2009 and 2010, with the economy being so slow, we decided to keep our membership dues at 2008 levels. As a result, we haven't added anything "big" recently, but we've repainted the pools, upgraded our drainage system, filters, and restrooms, and kept RVSC clean, safe, enjoyable...and affordable in these tough times.
For 2008, the club unveiled several improvements, featuring a major expansion and renovation of Chez Raccoon, our world-renowned five-star restaurant. OK, it's really our snack bar, but the food's good, and the menu will expand even further this summer. Check out the What's New page for details.
For years the top wish-list item for Raccoon Valley was a pool slide. In 2007, we made the wish come true. Our new tube slide has been a huge hit, and the story of its installation and debut will remain here at RVSC.org on the slide's photo diary page.
