The Raccoon Valley Masked Bandits had quite a summer. In their SSA dual-meet season, the Bandits went 1-3, defeating Ramblewood and falling to Vineland, Tarnsfield, and Larchmont. That was good enough for a fourth-place finish, so RVSC will stay put in the Olympic Division for 2011. The highlight of the summer though came at the Gloucester County Championships. No Suburban League team had ever won a trophy at the Peach Bowl...until now. Seeded fifth, the Bandits turned in one enormous time drop after another to vault over two teams and earn a third-place finish! Congratulations to Coach Karen, her staff, and the kids of Raccoon Valley 2010 – we hope to win more Peach Bowl trophies in the future, but no one else will ever be able to say that they did it first. Along the way, 13 new team records were set (9 at the Peach Bowl alone), and the team honored their five graduating seniors: Claire Alpaugh, John Paul Kotyla, Carolyn Loudermilk, Sean Minderlein, and John Straguzzi. Stay safe this winter, and see you next summer!
Attention all Masked Bandits and their parents: The 2010 Swim & Dive Team Registration Night will be Thursday, April 29th at the Pleasant Valley School cafeterium. There will be a half-hour Parents Association meeting beginning promptly at 6:00pm, followed by signups from 6:30pm to 8:00pm. The registration forms and other useful documents are now updated and online on the About The Swim Team page.
